It's all going fairly smoothly so far (I'm happy and, more importantly, the bride's happy), but do you mind if I test the friendship for a moment with a brief but heartfelt whinge?? Here goes:
I really, really hate chiffon.
Thank you. I feel better now.
Oh dear, I feel for you. But I must say that chiffon garments are gorgeous to wear, to touch and to look at, so all the suffering now will be worth it in the end. Chin up - you can't be too far away from completion!
ReplyDeleteYou're right, they are! Just have to keep eyes on the finish line....Thanks, Nessa :)
DeleteWhen I feel like screaming I take empties to the bottle bank - for optimum benefits it pays to find an empty bank - something strangely therapeutic about the sound of breaking glass (in an entirely safe and environmentally sound setting of course!). Best of luck, hope the finishing line is in sight :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that's just wonderful! Must remember that :)
DeleteI've so been there and have felt your pain! It really will be worth it once you get to the end.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Claire! I've been keeping your gorgeous chiffon dress in mind as "finish line inspiration", believe me :)
DeleteHaving never sewn with chiffon I can on,y imagine what a pain in the bum it must be! Stride on with your selfless sewing and dream of selfish sewing for the rest of the year!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm dreaming alright! So many projects in my head are ready to go...Bring on November! :)
